Barron’s assigned photographer Nick Hagen to cover the first day of the United Auto Workers’ strike against The Big Three in the Detroit, Michigan area. UAW members and supporters first gathered at Local 900 across from Ford's Michigan Assembly plant moments after the strike began at midnight, Wayne Michigan, September 15, 2023. UAW President Shawn Fain joined them on the picket line.
Later that day, UAW members and supporters gathered at the UAW Ford Nations Program Center with the General Motors HQ behind them for a rally later that day in support of the strike against the Big Three, Detroit, Michigan, September 15, 2023. Speakers included Senator Bernie Sanders and UAW President Shawn Fain.
